Bathroom, Rolle (VD)

A renovation made in a flat in Rolle for a young couple. The customer created himself the piece of furniture for a magnificent result. Bravo!

Thanks to Roberto for sending me those beautiful pics, testifying for his talent.

Ceramic tiles 45x45 Moka, mozaïque white.

Whom am I?

Stemming from a family of tilers, a grandfather craftsman and six uncles, of whom four craftsmen, I was early able to discover requirements of the profession of tiler-mosaïste. A high-school degree in science in pocket and two years at university later, I decided to complete my experiences and confirmed my craft know-how by obtaining the tiler-mozaïste diploma level V within the center AFPA of Valence, in 1997.

Touched by the problems connected to the environement, I decided to look for alternatives in the common products to propose services corresponding to my working philosophy.

The market opens to ecology, new materials appear, better made and/or more effective; while certain materials and former techniques, such as the lime, demonstrate their incredible qualities.

The ecology is not any more a fate. If you are concerned, ask advice from your local craftsman, his skills have equals only your curiosity.

Certified stone floors Eco-label

The industry of the stone floor has an impact& on our environment, it directly by the management of quarries for approvisionement in raw materials, management of waste, or indirectly, by his its energy consumption, in production or in transport. Today, at the time of the globalization, a lot of manufacturers do not hesitate to delocalize their productions in countries where the workforce is of lesser cost. The impact on the selling price of the stone floor is undeniable, but at what ecological and human price? It is not rare today to find labelings disturbing as "IMPORTED FROM ITALY" and further away"made in PRC". Disconcerting, isn't it!

All this to come to the initiative of the European Union there concerning industrial products made in Europe, having for object to value products made by a network of companies which make a commitment to respect the standards Eco-label, putting the ecology in the center of their statégies of growth. The road is still long before being able to buy a stone floor which would not have polluted. But be realistic, require the impossible!

The eco-label exists since 1992 and is now open to ceramic covers, under the category Hard Floor Coverings.

You will find here the manufacturers and their concerned ranges.

Kitchen walls, Gex

This is a work done on kitchen walls. The customer contacted me from abroad, so we only communicated by phone or e-mails, and post mail for the quote signature. There were missing aluminium tiles for the frieze, so I suggested to create same size white tiles in order to complete it. I sent him a picture infographicaly retouch so he could see the project. The offer pleased him and the deal was concluded. I only met the customer after the work was done, satisfied the work was done in time, conform to his expectations.

There are the pictures, before/after.

White earthenwares 40x25 et frieze aluminium/white 5x5. Aluminium stick all around for a perfect finishing.

Renovation, Italian style shower, Genevan

This is a renovation I did in the Genevan. This picture was taken after the plumber finished his job. After several screeds, I drew up the mortar screed on the floor as drip tray. Then I laid the tiles.

Tiles dimension: 7cmX7cm. Laid from the floor up to the ceiling.

Another bathroom, same house, same tiles. Many things were built: bath-tub low wall, seat in the italian shower, tablets for basins and around the bath-tub. All dressed with tiles.
